Aiming to explore and strengthen meaningful collaborations, His Excellency Christian Halaas Lyster, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Philippines, paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, where he was formally welcomed by Governor Edwin Jubahib on April 29, 2026.

Governor Jubahib extended his warmest welcome to the Ambassador, emphasizing that the visit presents a valuable opportunity to further enhance the cooperation between Norway and DavNor’s local communities, while expressing the province’s strong interest in pursuing investment partnerships and engaging in collaborative initiatives across key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and other sustainable ventures which can open new pathways for growth and long-term development.

Ambassador Lyster also underscored his commitment to visiting more areas in Mindanao, including the Davao Region, to strengthen ties at the local level. He also highlighted the shared maritime culture between the two countries as a foundation for cooperation, as well as ongoing joint efforts with national and local governments in areas such as waste management.
